About Philip
Philip J. Branigan, Esq. is a founding partner of the firm who is personally acquainted with each practice area being handled by the attorneys at Heilig Branigan.
Mr. Branigan proudly served the residents of Suffolk County as a member of the Suffolk County Police Department and after a twenty plus year career he retired from with the rank of Sergeant. After graduating law school, Mr. Branigan further served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.
In addition to receiving his Juris Doctorate law degree, Mr. Branigan has an LLM degree in Banking, Corporate and Finance Law from the Fordham University School of Law, an MBA in Corporate Finance from Dowling College and a Masters of Professional Studies in Criminal Justice Administration from St. John’s University.
As an Adjunct Professor at Suffolk County Community College, Mr. Branigan teaches criminal law and remains dedicated to imparting a sense of appreciation and understanding of our legal system to his students. Mr. Branigan also serves as General Counsel to the Police Association of Suffolk County, Inc. and NY Laws for Paws, a nonprofit animal advocacy group.
Mr. Branigan is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association and the Suffolk County Criminal Bar Association.
