About Edward

Edward G. Heilig, Esq. is a founding partner of the firm and a seasoned trial attorney with over thirty years of litigation experience in both state and federal court. As a managing partner, Mr. Heilig is actively involved in all aspects of the firm’s practice areas.

 

Upon graduating from law school as his class Valedictorian, Mr. Heilig began his legal career as a Suffolk County Assistant District Attorney where he served in a number of bureaus that led him to concentrate in white collar, environmental, labor and government fraud investigations and prosecutions. Mr. Heilig served as the Bureau Chief of the Economic Crimes Bureau and the Special Investigations Bureau before his appointment as Division Chief overseeing all financial crime bureaus as well as the administration of the District Attorney’s Office.

 

Mr. Heilig also served as the state-wide Assistant Deputy Attorney General for the New York State Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit and as a Deputy Bureau Chief in the Suffolk County Attorney’s Office, where he represented Suffolk County and its employees in state tort actions and federal civil rights cases.

 

As part of the firm’s labor practice, Mr. Heilig serves of counsel to the School Administrators Association of New York State (SAANYS), representing school principals and other administrators in all matters pertaining to the collective bargaining agreements between the administrators and their respective school districts.

 

A member of the Suffolk County Bar Association, Mr. Heilig has served on the Labor and Employment Law and the Professional Ethics and Civility Committees. He is also a member of the Suffolk County Criminal Bar Association.
